Does Renters Insurance Cover Everyone?
- 37376 POINTSview profileDavid G. Pipes, CLU®, RICP®Business Development Officer, T.D. McNeil Insurance Services, Fresno, CaliforniaEach policy has a named insured. That is usually the person named on the lease. More than one person can be named on the policy as insureds. Additionally your relatives are covered if they are members of your household. Domestic employees and guests have limited coverage. Other people are covered for specific purposes such as your legal representative if you die.Answered on February 25, 2014flag this answer

The policy will be written with a "named insured". The named insured is the contract with the insurance company and will generally only cover that individual (and sometimes immediate family members). I would check with your agent because every policy could differ-although i have not seen an insurance policy that could cover "everyone". Hope this answer helps.Answered on October 14, 2015flag this answer
