Many insurance companies provide apps for cell phones that will handle a claim report. The claims people will gather information. Their first question is usually, “Is anyone hurt?” They will want to know if the car can be driven. They will need to know when the accident occurred, how much damage there is to your car, and the other car (if it involves another car.) They will want to know specifics about the other car and driver and the identification of potential witnesses to the accident.Answered on February 25, 2014flag this answer

Most insurance companies provide you with a menu driven, 24 hour toll free number to report claims. However, we find many of our insureds prefer to report the claim to our agency before contacting the insurance company. If the claim is clearly the fault of the driver of the other vehicle and no one in your vehicle is injured, you may be better off reporting the claim to their insurance company. However, your agent is in the best position to advise you. Do yourself a favor and get your agent involved in the claims process as early as possible. www.HamiltonInsGroup.com www.Nationwide.com/TimHamiltonAnswered on March 23, 2014flag this answer
