Auto Insurance premiums are based on several factors which include; age, gender (males are generally more risky), past driving history, the type of car and the coverage you have or are required to have on it (if you have a loan, they you will be required in most cases to be fully covered), if you can "bundle" your coverage with other needs such as multi-car discount, your homeowners, etc.

There are several reasons.  The premium is set differently in different states.  In California the causes could be a poor driving record, in particular a conviction for DUI.  It could be the yr. make and model of your car, it could be the area in which you live, it could be the number of miles that your car travels each year and it could be the driving record of someone else in your household who is listed on your policy.

Expensive auto insurance can often be fixed...by shopping the right way, and comparing the best options. Of course, finding the most competitive prices means using a broker to help you find the lowest rates. You pay no fees and you're not obligated to make any changes. Of course, driving slower helps too!
