Does Renters Insurance Cover Spoiled Food?
- 37376 POINTSview profileDavid G. Pipes, CLU®, RICP®Business Development Officer, T.D. McNeil Insurance Services, Fresno, CaliforniaThere can be several reasons that food would spoil. If it is owner neglect, then it won’t be a covered loss. If it is the result of power interruption and the interruption is outside the building then it will not be covered. If it is the result of a power interruption because of some “covered event” such as fire, inside the premises then it will probably be covered.Answered on March 26, 2014flag this answer
