    If the laptop is broken as the result of a “covered peril” the renter’s policy will pay to make it “whole.”  The payment will be subject to the deductible and if the computer has depreciated very much your reimbursement might not be significant.  If the computer is damaged by negligence or if it simply is running out of gas, then it probably won’t be covered at all.
