Will Medicare Pay For A Handicap Ramp?

   Unfortunately the answer to that question is no.  Medicare only covers hospital and doctors and medically necessary items.  A wheel chair ramp is not considered durable medical equipment.  If you qualify for Medicaid or Medicaid waiver it is possible to have the wheelchair ramp built with approval by Medicaid and your case worker.
