Yes, there are a few low face amount, Whole Life, No Exam policies that will provide final expense coverage for an 85 year old person. There are also some medically underwritten policies that will cover persons up to age 90. It takes pretty good health to get life insurance past age 80, but allowances are made when health conditions under good control.

Yes you can. New York Life frequently provides life insurance to those up to age 90. Depending on your health, you may be able to obtain a reasonable amount of life insurance. Even if your health is not good, you may be able to obtain a guaranteed benefit policy. Gary Lane, Agent, New York Life, 949 797 2424. Thank you.

Great question! Yes, there are companies that will cover up to age 90, but the catch is that if there are  health issues, that can make the policy unwritable, or very expensive. A guaranteed issue policy will be more lenient on health issues, but will have a period of time that you will have to outlive to receive the face value payout for. If I can answer more questions that you may have, please contact me, I'd be happy to help. Thanks for asking!

Depends on the 85 year old! Many insurance companies will insure people up to 85 and some even up to 90 years of age. Of course there are other determinants than age alone. What is the health of the 85 year old? Does the 85 year old have the means to pay the premiums? There will typically be limitations on the amount of insurance benefit an 85 year old may buy as well.
