Will Homeowners Insurance Cover Termites?
- 1265 POINTSview profileDrew Delaney, J.D., CLCSCommercial Lines Producer, Secure Investors Group, INC, Troy, MichiganNope. A very common exclusion is damage caused by pests/parasites. The reason for this exclusion is it is preventable. Taking a step back, insurance is meant to provide coverage for sudden and unexpected events that can cause a catastrophic loss. If something can be prevented then there is typically no coverage. Termites fall into the category of being preventable.Answered on June 26, 2013flag this answer
