It may. This going to depend on the coverages afforded within your homeonwers policy. Not all carriers offer coverage for mold within their policy's. Please read your policy completely to understand the coverage provided and any exclusions that may be contained within or contact your local agent to have them go over the policy with you.

Mold is in every home.  Building materials provide the food necessary for mold to grow.  Moisture is the ingredient necessary for mold to become a problem.  Moisture, most commonly comes from leaking plumbing.  Leaky plumbing is excluded in most homeowner’s policies.  If the mold is the result of a sudden discharge from a pipe in the home, coverage might be available; however, remediation normally eliminates that from happening.

That is a great question! You will need to look at your policy to see. Some insurers will include mold damage, others will not. Here in the hot and humid south, mold insurance is a rider, or a separate coverage as a rule, since mold is so prevalent. Contact your agent, and find out whether yours does. Good luck, and thanks for asking!
