Does Homeowners Insurance Cover Termites?
- 37376 POINTSview profileDavid G. Pipes, CLU®, RICP®Business Development Officer, T.D. McNeil Insurance Services, Fresno, CaliforniaA homeowner’s policy makes you “whole” if you suffer damage from any of the “stated perils” of the policy. Most homeowner’s policies specifically exclude damage as a result of an infestation of insects. However, if the damage is hidden and results in a collapse of part of the building, the damage is likely to be covered. Routine damage by termites isn’t normally covered.Answered on May 30, 2014flag this answer
