Can You Not Have Homeowners Insurance?
- 14231 POINTSview profileTom SheehanAgency Owner, The Thomas G Sheehan Agency, 27 Glen Road Sandy Hook, CT 06482Yes of course, provided that you do not have a mortgage. If you have a mortgage, then the finance sompany or bank will require you to have Homeowners Insurance as a condition of the loan, and to maintain it without lapse for the life of the loan. If you do not have a mortgage of any kind, then certainly there is no one looking over your shoulder requiring you to have it. In a case like that, should you risk everything you have worked so hard for by not having insurance ? My answer is a resounding "NO"! Buy and maintain the insurance and live with peace of mind.Answered on January 10, 2014flag this answer
