However starting 2014 the federal government will start levying penalties on businesses that have over 50 full time equivilent employees and on individuals who do not have health insurance either through their spouse, work, individual coverage, or are listed as a covered dependent on someone else's insurance policy.Answered on July 3, 2013flag this answer
