Long Term Care and Disability Insurance are two separate policies. Long Term Care Insurance pays for skilled care when covered persons can no longer care for themselves. Disability Insurance pays the covered person cash if they can no longer work due to an illness or injury.

Long Term Disability (without the word care inserted) is Disability Insurance that is designed for persons who are unable to work for an extended period of time (generally, a minimum of three months).
