    No, pregnancy is considered a pre-existing condition, and you cannot get maternity disability insurance while pregnant. There may be an exception somewhere, but it is highly doubtful. Even most group plans require that you have worked at the business before becoming pregnant in order to use disability benefits for normal pregnancy.

    You can purchase a short term disability policy while pregnant. Many carriers will not ask pregnancy related questions on the application, although some do. The policy may cover any accidents or illnesses not caused by a preexisting condition after one year.

    Future pregnancies will be covered, however no policy will cover your current pregnancy.
