   If your auto insurance cancels, when you look to secure coverage with another carrier the amount of time from the cancellation of coverage to the time that you secure coverage with another carrier be seen as a lapse of coverage possibly forcing you into a high risk policy. If you secure coverage with another carrier before the cancellation or within thirty days of the cancellation then you would not be considered as having a lapse in coverage.
