Does Full Coverage Auto Insurance Cover Rental Cars?
- 260 POINTSview profileBen SimpsonPresident, Simpson Financial Solutions, Omaha, NEThis gets a little tricky as most companies will extend liability coverage if you are at fault and injury someone in an accident. What won't be covered is the time it takes to repair the rental car if you damage it. For example if the rental car cost $50 per day and it takes 60 days to get the car fixed the potential charge for the lose of use of the vehicle could be $3000 out of your pocket.Answered on July 10, 2014flag this answer

However, for the most part, standard policies provide coverage for your vehicle and for any private passenger vehicle you are driving while it temporarily replaces yours. In cases such as this, the coverage that you have on your policy would extend so if you have both Physical Damage Comprehensive and Liability coverage, this full protection would extend.Answered on July 10, 2014flag this answer
