Can Other People Drive My Car Under My Insurance?
- 16470 POINTSview profileDavid OsgoodAgent, Rural Mutual Insurance Co., Union Grove, WIIf a person is not listed on the same policy as you they are not covered by the policy just because they are driving your vehicle. Auto insurance typically follows the driver not the vehicle. This means if someone drives your vehicle and they have their own insurance coverage their insurance carrier would be the first to pay for claims from a covered accident that the driver was involved in. If the person driving the vehicle with your permission does not have insurance coverage then your insurance coverage would pick up in the event of a covered accident.Answered on September 21, 2013flag this answer
