It may be, but it is best to discuss this with your Insurance Professional in order to more fully understand the terms and conditions of your policy.  It may be possible that a kayak , canoe or small sail boat may be covered under your Homeowners' policy.  However, motor powered boats or personal watercraft of a certain size or horsepower may require coverage under a separate boatowners' policy.

The vision of boat varies dependent upon the person. For some a boat is a two person canoe and for others it is a 100 ft. yacht. Most homeowner’s policies provide coverage for a small pleasure boat. They generally exclude boats that have more than a specified amount of horse power. They will also restrict boats based upon their length. If you have a rowboat, call your agent and get a specific answer. If you have a ski boat call your agent for a quote on boat insurance.
