It may be possible that a kayak , canoe or small sail boat may be covered under your Homeowners' policy. However, motor powered boats or personal watercraft of a certain size or horsepower may require coverage under a separate boatowners' policy.Answered on June 10, 2014flag this answer

For some a boat is a two person canoe and for others it is a 100 ft. yacht. Most homeowner’s policies provide coverage for a small pleasure boat. They generally exclude boats that have more than a specified amount of horse power. They will also restrict boats based upon their length. If you have a rowboat, call your agent and get a specific answer. If you have a ski boat call your agent for a quote on boat insurance.Answered on March 5, 2015flag this answer
