Can A 16 Year Old Get Car Insurance?
- 21750 POINTSview profileJim WinklerCEO/Owner, Winkler Financial Group, Houston, TexasThat is an excellent question! I had it when I was 16, because I met all of my State's requirements - I was of legal driving age, and the age of responsibility. I had a car, and was able to make the monthly payment. As long as you are of legal age and have a valid drivers license, and are able to make the payments, you should have no problems either! Thanks for asking!Answered on June 10, 2014flag this answer

Check with your parent's Insurance Professional first because their insurance company may offer better coverage at a more reasonable rate due to multi policy discounts.Answered on June 10, 2014flag this answer

Preferred carriers are not interested in that sort of business. There is a secondary insurance market that will provide basic coverage. That coverage might be expensive, particularly when compared to insuring the same vehicle as a part of a household with other drivers.Answered on July 10, 2014flag this answer
