One of the main coverages in a renter’s policy is personal property.  If you own the refrigerator and it is damaged due to a “covered peril” the policy will pay the value minus your policy deductible.  There were several terms that need your attention; “covered peril” excludes normal wear and tear.  Another term is “value” as the way that is determined is governed by the policy and should be checked.
