Why Is Renters Insurance So Expensive?
- 16470 POINTSview profileDavid OsgoodAgent, Rural Mutual Insurance Co., Union Grove, WIExpensive is a relative term to the person using it. Based on my limited experience within my geographic location; renters insurance is typically very inexpensive. I would say based on my experience that an average renters insurance policy in my area is around ten dollars per month and if you have your renters and auto coverage with the same carrier you will typically receive additional discounts. If you feel the rate for your renters insurance is too high call some other local agents in your area to receive quotes from other carriers for the coverage you seek.Answered on October 17, 2013flag this answer

McNeil Insurance Services, Fresno, CaliforniaThere is so much competition for renter’s insurance that I am surprised by this question. The premium is an accurate reflection of the risk. That means that you have so much to lose should a fire sweep through your residence, or if someone were to slip and fall in your unit. The results could be that without insurance you would be bankrupt and without any personal property.Answered on August 12, 2014flag this answer
