Make a list of everything in your rental unit that belongs to you.  Alongside each item, estimate its replacement cost.  If you wish you can have another column showing its current value.  When you are done total the column and you have the replacement cost coverage that you need for personal property.  When you contact your insurance agent give the agent that number and then ask for a quote with the maximum amount of liability coverage available.
