How Much Coverage Do I Need For Renters Insurance?

There are 2 basic elements of a Renter's policy: 1) Personal Property Coverage and 2) Liability Coverage. Personal Property coverage should reflect the value of your personal belongings. Most companies offer a "Replacement Guarantee" settlement option, but usually require a minimum amount of stated coverage in order to trigger that. As for Liability, frankly most companies offer a range between $100,000 and $300,000. The difference in premium is so minimal (usually under $10.00 annually) that I personally recommend going with the higher amount.Answered on December 11, 2013flag this answer

It is not unusable to see 70% or greater of the cost of the renters policy "paid for " with savings on the auto policyAnswered on December 12, 2013flag this answer
