Renter’s insurance covers personal property. The limits of the policy are stated on the declarations. Inside the policy there is a paragraph that describes the reduction in limits for personal property that is not on the premises at the time of loss. Even with this reduction most renters’ policies provide enough coverage to cover the loss of a bicycle. The adjustment, however, will include a reduction for the deductible. Check the deductible on your policy. If the deductible is greater than the value of your bicycle you will probably be unable to recover the cost of the bicycle.Answered on May 1, 2015flag this answer
