- 180 POINTSview profilenjinsuranceguySalem NJRenters insurance covers your personal contents of your rented property. If you vehicle was vandalized that is a comprehensive claim under your auto insurance, assuming that you carry comprehensive coverage. If you do not carry comprehensive they only thing to do is sue the person who vandalized your car, and most likly you do not know who they are. There is an obscure situation where there could be coverage but it would not be for a car used on the road. If your car was used to maintain the premises and was not used on the road it might be covered for vandalism.Answered on August 7, 2014flag this answer

This coverage is available under the Comprehensive portion of your Car Insurance policy (for vandalism). That having been said, if someone breaks into your car and takes personal items those personal items would be covered under a typical Renters' Insurance policy subject to policy coverage limitations and the deductible.Answered on August 13, 2014flag this answer
