A cell phone is covered as personal property under a renter’s policy.  If your cell phone is damaged the company will pay the damages (based either on the age of the phone or the cost of a replacement phone) to you minus the policy deductible.  Whether the company uses the current value of the phone or the replacement value is determined by the policy.
