   You cannot purchase a one month renter’s policy. You can stop a renter’s policy at any time. Some policies may have a cancellation fee. Refund of unused premium is generally done on a pro rata basis but there is another technique, “short rate cancellation” which will result in a slightly higher earned premium. If this is a concern, check with your agent.
