   To get USAA insurance, you must be a member of USAA. To be eligible to be a member of USAA, one of the following must be true: 
   1) You are an officer or enlisted personnel in the US military, or are retired or honorably separated from the US military.
   2) You are an officer candidate in a commissioning program (Academy, ROTC, OCS/OTS).
   3) You are an adult child whose parent has or had a USAA auto or property insurance policy,.
   4) You are a widow or widower of a USAA member who had a USAA auto or property insurance policy.
