I never received a bill for insurance premium last month – so I didn’t think anything was due. Now I am being told my policy is being cancelled because payment is overdue. Can they do that?
Can An Insurance Company Cancel My Policy If They Never Sent A Bill?
- 63333 POINTSview profilePeggy MaceMost of the U.S.They can do that if they have proof that the bill was sent out. However, you can try to resolve this with them over the phone. Also, your policy has a month grace period where it will stay in effect even if the payment is up to a month late. It sounds like the payment was over a month late. Perhaps you can reinstate your policy and switch to automatic withdrawal as a safeguard from this happening again.Answered on July 21, 2013flag this answer
