    Yes, Medicare provides coverage for diabetic test strips under Part B - they're viewed as a type of durable medical equipment (DME). You must be enrolled in Medicare and be diabetic to have the test strips covered.

    In general, Medicare will cover approximately 80% of the cost - you will be responsible for the other 20%.

    Medicare covers testing strips - under Part B.  Medicare Part A & B only covers 80% of anything, but if you have a Medicare Advantage plan or a Medicare Supplement - this helps cover all or most of the 20% you might be left with.   Some Medicare Advantage plans cover the strips at 100%,  some would leave you with a small copay, instead of the full 20%.   Check with your Advantage or Supplement plan to find out exactly what you will pay for your strips.
