   Medicare Part B covers DME (durable medical equipment) including hospital beds, canes, walkers and wheelchairs. To qualify your doctor must prescribe the devices and you must use a Medicare approved DME provider.
   
   Be sure to ask if they accept assignment.
   
   The nursing homes I have visited have their own wheel chairs. I am not sure why you need or want Medicare to pay for yours.
