Whoever you give permission to. When applying for insurance, you authorize insurance companies to review your MIB (Medical Information Bureau) They may make a determination on your insurability to get insured.

The MIB is somewhat like a credit check on your medical information. You provide answers to medical questions during the application process. Then insurance company then reviews that information.

Depending on any health conditions, the insurance company my request a APS (Attending Physcians Statement) You have to give consent for your doctor to release information to the insurance company with whom you applied with. Hope this helps!

That is an excellent question! Thanks to the Patriot Act, your personal privacy has become much more protected. Legally, other than the provider themselves, no one can look at your records unless you authorize them to. That said, you might want to start looking at the small print before you sign things, as you'd be surprised at how many companies are interested in your health status. Be sure to look before you sign. Thanks for asking!
