   Part A of Medicare covers an inpatient hospital stay. There is a $1408 deductible for 2020 and then the first 60 days of a hospital stay have no copay. Days 61-90 has a coinsurance of $352 per day for 2020, after 90 days you go into lifetime reserve days at $704 per day and after 60 lifetime reserve days, you pay 100% of the costs. A Medicare supplement can cover these costs and a Medicare advantage plan will typically lower these costs and provide a maximum out of pocket protection.
