When Can You Sign Up For Medicare D?
- 1305 POINTSview profileNeil SteinmanOwner, Orange County Health & Life Insurance,You can sign up for Medicare Part D when you turn 65. If you are already 65 but have not previously gotten Part D because you had credible drug coverage from your employer, and you are now losing that coverage, you can sign up within 60 days of losing that coverage. There are other exceptions in which you can sign up throughout the year, but if you don't have a "Special Enrollment" situation, then you would have to apply during open enrollment, which is Oct 15 - Dec 7th.Answered on May 26, 2014flag this answer
