What Is Medicare Part E?

In June 2010, rules regarding Medicare supplement plans were restructured and supplement plans could no longer include prescription drug coverage. Therefore, plans E, H, I, and J were no longer available for purchase. To get a similar plan structure today, you need to purchase either a plan F, G, or N (the most comparable Medigap plans to plan E) and a stand-alone Part D prescription drug plan. If you have an existing one that was already in force before the changes, you can keep it as Medicare supplement plans are guaranteed renewable.Answered on April 16, 2014flag this answer
