Is Medicare B Voluntary?
- 12689 POINTSview profileTed RatliffOwner, SFS Associates,You do have the right to opt out of Part B. Be very careful however. Unless you have group or other coverage equal to Medicare, then you can be penalized for every month that goes by that you were eligible for and did not carry Part B. That penalty will never go away and can get very expensive. I do not recommend opting out of Part B.Answered on June 11, 2013flag this answer
