Is Enrollment In Medicare Part B Mandatory?
- 63333 POINTSview profilePeggy MaceMost of the U.S.No, enrollment in Part B Medicare is not mandatory. Some people put off enrolling in Medicare Part B until the next enrollment period (or more) after their 65th birthday because they are receiving good health insurance through the group plan offered at their place of employment. If you are enrolled in Part B Medicare automatically when you turn age 65, you can turn it down. But do know the consequences of turning down Part B beforehand.Answered on September 13, 2013flag this answer
