Is An Ekg Covered By Medicare?
- 235 POINTSview profilejesse bannisterPresident/CEO, TheMedigapMarket.com, Phoenix, ArizonaYes generally diagnostic testing such as an EKG would be covered by Medicare as long as Medicare considers the test to be medically necessary for your particular situation. In general Medicare only covers medically necessary treatments so if you're just going to have an EKG for the fun of it you probably are not going to be covered by medicare. However, if you and your doctor are attempting to diagnose or treat some sort of underlying condition or symptom you should be covered just fine by medicare. If you would like a definitive answer you can always call medicare directly at 1-800-Medicare to ask if they would pay for that type of test.Answered on January 24, 2014flag this answer
