To get home healthcare covered by medicare you must be homebound and a doctor must certify that you need intermittent occupational therapy, physical therapy, skilled nursing care and/or speech-language therapy. Medicare also needs to approve the home health agency caring for you.
Medicare does not cover 24-hour care or custodial care when it's the only care needed. If you need full-time or long-term nursing care you will most likely not qualify for home health benefits, Medicare does not cover long term care.
