The Medicare Part A deductible for 2013 is $1184 per admission.
Once you satisfy the deductible, Medicare covers all approved inpatient charges in full for the next 60 days of that hospital admission.
If you are discharged within the 60 day time frame and readmitted within 30 days to the same or a different hospital for the same condition you do not have to satisfy a new deductible.
If you are admitted for a different medical condition you must satisfy a new $1184 deductible.

Medicare is complicated as there are several different coverage "lines", for example Part A; which is hospitalization. Original medicare has a deductible for each benefit period of 1,260. If you have a Medicare Supplement, your deductible is paid by the supplement plan and you pay nothing.
