Routine eye exams are not covered by Medicare Part A or Part B.

If you are an inpatient in a hospital, and have an illness or injury to your eye, Part A would cover that exam.

If you are treated as an outpatient in the ER, clinic or doctor's office for illness or injury to your eye, Part B will cover at least a portion of the exam.
