    Yes, Medicare does cover Avastin or treatment of metastatic breast cancer. An FDA panel advised against Medicare covering Avastin in 2011, saying that it was not successful in extending the life of those who took it, and caused harmful side effects. However, the CMS decided to cover it, anyway, and has stuck with that through the present.
