    Medicare Part A is typically free for a person age 65 and over.  Medicare Part B portion of the card does have a monthly premium which is usually $104.90 per month (For 2013 & 2014).  If your income exceeds $85,000 per year (or a married couple's income exceeds $170,000) then your Part B premium could be higher.  You should also consider a Medigap Plan (Medicare Supplement Plan) or a Medicare Advantage Plan.
