Some Medigap Plans sold in the past did cover prescription drugs; however, Medigap Policies sold after January 1, 2006 are not allowed to include coverage for prescription drugs.
Medigap Plans fill in the "gaps" that original Medicare does not cover. So it will pay for approved Medicare items. With that said, Medicare only covers a limited amount of drugs. Examples include: injections recieved in the doctor's office, certain oral anti-cancer drugs, some types of drugs used with various durable medical equipment (ex: nebulizer or external infusion pump), and under extremely limited circumstances, certain drugs you receive in a outpatient hospital setting.
Some drugs in a hospital setting are known as "self-administered drugs" (drugs you normally take on your own). These are not covered by Part B and, therefore, not paid for by your Medigap Plan.

Medigap plans do not cover drugs. They use to until a few years ago when Medigap plans E, H, I, and J were taken off of the marketplace due to changes in the Medicare laws.
If you have a Medigap plan and want to have coverage for prescription drugs , you would need to secure a standalone Part D prescription drug plan.
