    Yes, you can refuse Medicare A. But there are no premiums for Medicare Part A. So unless you do not want to burden the government with paying a great portion of your hospitalization services, there are not a lot of reasons to opt out of Medicare Part A.

    You will be automatically enrolled in Medicare A when you turn 65, so will just need to fill out a form to state the reason why you are refusing it.
