Sometimes the underwriting process can be lengthy and LTC plans can be costly. When you're looking through the information from the different companies and they talk about the average length of stay in a nursing home, you have to look beyond the stated number that includes all ages and focus on ages 75 and older. When you look at that age group nearly 3 out of 10 spend less than 100 days and the other 6 spend less than two years. Fro most people I've found that Short Term Care Plans are a much better choice. They can provide the same type of income for a fraction of the cost. Most plans are issued in under 10 day.Answered on November 21, 2013+11 0+1 this answerflag this answerview more answers by Jose S Sanchez Jr
