Whether you will be denied life insurance or not depends on a number of factors even if you are denied life insurance at standard rates you do have options. some companies offer guaranteed or easy issue insurance.

I suggest you would work an experienced independent insurance broker. The broker can submit a trial application without jeopardizing you application with other companies.

If you have further questions, or feel that I could be of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you would like to work with a local life insurance broker, you could start with a Google search. For example, if you search for: life insurance broker Halifax or life insurance agent Halifax, my name, along with several others, will come up. You can use the same method to find a life insurance broker in your community.

Life insurance companies deny applications occasionally.  The risk of being denied is highest when you are trying to get “standard” coverage with a highly rated insurance company.  There is a whole market, though, of companies that offer policies to people who might otherwise be declined.  Their coverage might be more expensive but something is always better than nothing.

People should not apply for life insurance policies for which they know they will be denied. You can know ahead with some policies because they have criteria that you must meet. E.g. They may not approve if you use oxygen, or if you weigh over a certain amount. Sometimes, the only way you can know if you will be denied is by asking an agent who is familiar with that company's underwriting guidelines.

Sometimes, people apply for policies where they are not sure if they will be denied or not. I.e. They have risk factors, but appear to meet the underwriting guidelines. It is not always possible to be able to tell ahead of time whether you will be declined or not. The final word will come from the underwriter after the underwriter reviews your medical records.

One thing is certain: you can decrease your chance of being declined by using an agent who understands your health and risk factors, and who can match you up to the policy that best meets your needs. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have a risk that might cause your life insurance to be denied. I can help you avoid an unnecessary decline and help you find an affordable policy.

That is a great question, and I'm glad that you asked it, because the answer is one that many people should know. Life insurance is one of those things that you should have help buying, because there are so many things to consider when looking. Being denied for a policy will hurt you when you look for the next. That is a big red flag among insurance companies. The bad thing about many of the TV advertised or mailed policy offers is that the questions on the application seem simple enough, but the small print is where you get denied. Please always seek out an insurance professional, to help you find the right policy for you. If you need help, please feel free to contact me, I'm happy to help, okay? Thanks for asking!

It is always possible to be denied life insurance coverage and most of the reasons for denial have to do with past medical history or an on-going problem. However, just because you have a medical problem doesn't mean that you will be denied. Instead, you may be rated up and all companies are not the same in ratings or denials. Some are more lenient than others. At times when I have a client that has a medical issue I will do a pre-screening and this will let us know what the rate-up may be or if there would be a denial. The company that I go through the most is much more lenient than than others in the market. In the case that you are denied coverage then we can go to a guarranteed issue or modified - issue product.
