It depends on what you're looking for. Term life plans are designed to cover large items (like a house) that will still need to be paid after you die in order to make it easier for the people you leave behind. Once the item is paid off, term life isn't as important.

Whole life can be used as a gift, to pay for funeral expenses, or to leave a legacy to your family.

Some plans can be used as a source of income if you need extra money.

Then there are hybrid plans that combine some of the above features. The best option is to talk to an independent broker in your area that has studied all of these types and discuss your needs. They will be happy to help you find the plan that works best for you.

It is simply impossible to answer that without knowing more about you, your finances, and your goals for your future. Life insurance is an important puzzle piece that can keep your family safe and your financial profile intact. However, there are different types of life insurance because the puzzle piece that works best for you is not the same one that works best for someone else.

This is one of those questions where a personal call or email is the the only way to really answer it correctly. I am here most of the time!

I guess the best way to answer your question is to say that you should work with your Insurance Professional to explore your needs and plans for the future.  There are numerous options available to you, so I would say that the kind of life insurance that you should get is the option that best meets your needs and fits your budget.  Either way...don't wait!
