    It is really not the person being insured who needs life insurance. Rather, it is those they leave behind. If you have dependents who would suffer financially if you were to pass away, you probably need life insurance. If you owe money that your dependents would have a hard time paying off, you probably need life insurance to pay off that debt or mortgage. 

    Many people feel they have their affairs in order without the need of life insurance. The problem is, disasters or tragedies can chip away at those funds, and what you had hoped to be there, can be depleted before death occurs. That is where having at least some life insurance is necessary for most people.
